Chris Trotter Ph.D, Monash University, Australia
Gil McIvor Ph.D, Stirling University, Scotland
Colin Roberts, Probation Studies Unit, Oxford, England

Conference Theme

In recent years the introduction of risk assessment instruments, programmes and case management systems has led to an increasing focus on the 'technology' of working with offenders and an increasing tendency to undervalue the importance of the individual skills, knowledge and aptitudes of both practitioners and managers.

The conference will focus on issues of personal effectiveness in successful human service organisations using internationally renowned keynote speakers and examples of successful practice.

Workshops will include:

  • Suicide Prediction in the Community
  • Working with Firesetters
  • Issues in working with female offenders
  • Working with Adolescent Male Sex Offenders
  • Working with children and their families

Venue:

The Angel Hotel, Cardiff

Conference Fee: £349.00 per person + VAT or £319.00 + VAT
for bookings made before 31st December 2003. This price includes the conference dinner which will be held at the Angel hotel on the evening of 31st March.

Accommodation: Overnight accommodation for 30th and 31st March is available at the Angel Hotel at between £90-£108 per person (inc. VAT) on a bed/breakfast basis or we can provide details of a range of other Hotels in the Cardiff area.
