It has been positively received by all grades of staff in all settings. The powerful messages need to be understood by all staff in order to maximise the organisation's aspirations in developing effective programmes or interventions. The course uses a building block approach allowing participants to explore fundamental principles and offer key principles in a structured way ensuring that the course clearly demonstrates:- The principles covered by this course, which uses a variety of methods are: The course can be tailored to meet local need and has been developed as part of organisational change management. We recommend that two members of staff work alongside the Cognitive Centre tutor to deliver the schedule. This enables services to train up and retain internal "champions" who will receive any necessary support and training from the Cognitive Centre.

Programme. Robert Ross was one of the Pioneers of the "What
Works" movement in criminal justice and remains a major influence
in the field. He is working with the Centre to produce a new generation
of programmes for working with offenders.

Chris Trotter
Dr. Chris Trotter of Monash University,
Australia whose recent work on prosocial modelling has been demonstrated
to have wide ranging applications in the fields of work with families
and children, child protection and criminal justice. Chris has worked
with the Centre to produce a prosocial modelling training programme.

Weekes
John Weekes of the Department
of Corrections in Canada. John Weekes is currently the co-ordinator
of the drug strategy for the Correctional Service of Canada and
Adjunct research professor of Forensic Psycology at Carleton University,
Ottawa. He is the author of numerous books and articles and a key
member of the team that developed the gold standard substance misuse
programme.
