We provide training in programme delivery, assessment tools and effective practice skills. Our Substance Misuse intervention programme and our assessment training programmes have proved particularly popular with staff in heath and clinical settings.

Assessment

We can provide assessment instruments for Needs, Conduct Disorder, Emotional Intelligence, Anti-Social Traits, Domestic Violence, Alcohol/Drugs Dependency, Feelings, Attitudes and Behaviours in Children and Vulnerable Adults amongst many others.

Our staff are approved trainers for a wide range of validated assessment instruments.

Effective Practice Skills

Our work in partnership with Professor Chris Trotter of Monash University, Australia, to develop Pro Social Modelling training is highly regarded throughout the UK. We have introduced a ‘training for trainers’ model and other recent developments include the provision of a Family problem Solving module.

CCF has also hosted a number of highly successful national and international conferences, as well as local seminars on a wide range of ‘effective practice’ themes.

Programmes

We have a wide range of intervention programmes for vulnerable adults and children.  Programmes designed specifically for Girls and Young Women, Young Firesetters and Sexually Harming Adolescents as well as programmes addressing Violence Reduction, Hate Crime, Gang membership and Car Crime.

We also provide training in Cognitive Behavioural Approaches.

Core Skills Training

The Centre has developed a range of training courses in response to the growing research agenda and feedback from front line managers and practitioners.  Currently these include Motivational Interviewing, Groupwork, Introduction to Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Using the P-SCAN and Risk/Need Assessment principles

Consultancy

As well as our range of training courses and assessments we provide consultancy services to a number of Health Services. These range from research and evaluation to advising on intervention and programme implementation issues.
