An assessment of social anxiety and fear. The SPAI is a self-report instrument for adolescents and adults aged 14 and older that assesses specific somatic symptoms, cognitions, and behaviours across a wide range of potentially fear-producing situations to measure social anxiety and fear, It is particularly useful when distinguishing between Panic Disorder, Agoraphobia, and Social Phobia.
The SPAI is ideal for use as a screening device in schools, outpatient clinics, hospitals, residential treatment facilities, prisons, and other correctional and employment settings. It is effective in monitoring treatment change, and takes only 30 minutes to administer. For children under 14, the SPAI-C is also available.
